You know, I have seen a lot of posts and heard a lot of comments about how awful 2017 was. Is it simply hyperbole or recency? Am I bad for not totally agreeing? Sure there were bad moments, but I'm not about to post some meme that "2017 broke me." Anyway, in running it was a year that came in like a lion and went out like a lamb. I ran the Houston Marathon on the second weekend of January but only ran five miles over the last two weeks of the year. I set some PRs, travelled around Texas to run, and made some memories. As we start 2018, I wanted to take some time to look back at my 2017 "year in running/blogging."

Running Highlight: finishing RnR #7, just a few away from that #10 plateau
My favorite race this year was probably the Ragnar. I love the team aspect of relays and I've always liked camping. Why not combine the two? If only I'd run a bit better. I'm glad I got to hang out/run with Jason and Anne a few more times before they moved away from San Antonio. I'm super thankful for Mila pushing, pulling, prodding, and goading me into finishing Wild Hare. I'm gonna go with Dennis Hall as my "Running Buddy of the Year" as I could always count on him to meet me for at least a few miles on those tough long runs.
I finished with 1,288 miles on the year and 28 races.
I hope 2018 turns out just as well!
